Is Jarmo a traditional game?

Please see https://newventuregames.com/blogs/news/how-to-play-jarmo-a-mongolian-game-from-poland-yes-you-read-that-right.  Is this really a traditional game?   I don't believe the backstory. It looks remarkably modern to me. Any ideas as to its origin?
