Hello everyone,

I am aware of the current restrictions on the size of the genome/genomes that 2bwt-builder has in place.
While 2^32-1 is enough for the human genome and most other applications, in the era of metagenomics this doesn't cut it anymore.

So, i'm wondering if any work is being done to remove this size restriction.
I'm sure the community would be happy with such a development and would certainly be willing to help achieving it. (if access to the actual implementation would be provided).

Looking forward to you reply,
Paul Costea

Hello,

BWA versions after 0.6.1 can support reference larger than 4GB, although I have no luck with that.
