I tried to make an account, but I have been stuck at the activation
stage. The email link sent by boardgaming.com to activate the account
errors out. =(

The amount of poor content and slow(but oh-so-glitzy) interface on that site isn't making the BGG Down catastrophe any better for me. :cries: Also, there are WAY too many people who have posted about RoboRally(okay, I was one too).

it's nothing compared to BGG for sure. but with its questing system and some decent contents, it's worth a visit while BGG is down :)

Agreed.  Which is why I deleted my account after several months.  The interface is pretty, but there's really nothing that boardgaming.com does, that BGG doesn't do better.  Slow additions to the game database, OOP games not included in database, crappy incentive process (quests) and lack of any real social networking features.  More and more I found myself asking, "why am I still visiting this site?"  The only thing I could come up with was that I was subconsciously compelled to visit the site because I didn't want to abandon the quest "progress" I had amassed.  Then I became disgusted with myself for biting hook, line and sinker for their marketing efforts.  There is little to no benefit to using boardgaming.com.  BGG may have its issues, but I can't think of anything that boardgaming.com offers that BGG doesn't.  If someone can come up with enough, or strong enough reasons otherwise, I'll rightfully eat crow, but I just don't see it happening.

They have so few games listed in the Wargame genre I thought I'd add
one. Filled out the whole freaking form and when i pressed submit it
blanked all the information I had filled in except for the very last
field :^(

I may try again but not tonight!!!

this site is trying hard on all the wrong levels.
Its only Interface Interface Interface - and almost no games at all.
