Agreed. Which is why I deleted my account after several months. The interface is pretty, but there's really nothing that
boardgaming.com does, that BGG doesn't do better. Slow additions to the game database, OOP games not included in database, crappy incentive process (quests) and lack of any real social networking features. More and more I found myself asking, "why am I still visiting this site?" The only thing I could come up with was that I was subconsciously compelled to visit the site because I didn't want to abandon the quest "progress" I had amassed. Then I became disgusted with myself for biting hook, line and sinker for their marketing efforts. There is little to no benefit to using
boardgaming.com. BGG may have its issues, but I can't think of anything that
boardgaming.com offers that BGG doesn't. If someone can come up with enough, or strong enough reasons otherwise, I'll rightfully eat crow, but I just don't see it happening.
