How about a feature that saves posts that we start writing when the site is up?

It wasn't a long post, but this has happened before. I start writing a post, I hit submit, BOOM, site is down, all my writing is lost. Isn't there some way to alert us about the site being down after we hit "submit" but before everything we just wrote is wiped? I've certainly learned my lesson about longer posts, but I'm not likely to copy and paste every single thing that I write into a word processor just in case the site happens to go down after I start writing it.

That feature already exists. Its called the Lazarus browser plugin.

In a modern browser you can just hit the Back button and return to the page with your composed message.
