Help me get my friend interested in games again!

My best friend who used to love games suddenly went cold on me.
Unless it's MTG (bleh) or a quick game of Talisman, I can't get him to
play!

Any games out there that are easy to play and have fantastic art?
Those seem to be his two non-negotiable criteria. Oh...and he's very
intimidated by larger games (he wouldn't touch my copy of Game of
Thrones).

Umm, Race for the Galaxy has good art, but isn't too easy to play... Dominion has so-so art... But if he likes card game then I think one of those is the way to go. And, I think MTG isn't too uncomplicate itself... ?
