Can anyone answer this?:
If I level up a hero who is already equipped, does the levelled-up
hero keep the weapon? I'm thinking not, because the original hero
would drop the weapon when he gets levelled up, and you can only equip
a weapon once per turn right?

Hmm....
It seems like if that was the case, you'd want to level up the hero before equipping anything to anyone.

You're right - each weapon can only be equipped once, so you'd want to
level up, then equip, not the other way around.

I equipt a regular hero with a polearm, which allowed me to draw a
card. I drew Whetmage which allows me to level up a hero. The only
hero I had to level up is the regular which is already equipt with the
polearm. The problem is the monster I am fighting destroys one
unequipped hero :(. I beat the monster, but lose my new hero.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Pity about the new guy, but at least he died bravely!

Because you have used a Dungeon ability on the Regular (to draw a
card) you cannot use the Whetmage to upgrade the Regular, because a
card cannot destroy another card if an ability has already been used
on that other card.

You could always just kill the Whetmage. He's going to die anyway,
this gives you a new hero to replace him with. Totally worth it.

I don't think I can use the Whetmage to level himself up if that's
what you mean.
