Chapter 18: Conclusion -- The Perfection of Renunciation
Verse: 50 siddhim prapto yatha brahma
tathapnoti nibodha me
samasenaiva kaunteya
nishtha jnanasya ya para
Translation: O son of Kunti, learn from Me how one who has achieved this perfection can attain to the supreme perfectional stage, Brahman, the stage of highest knowledge, by acting in the way I shall now summarize.
Explanation: Krishna now commences to explain the process of a yogi on the path of jnana-yoga. Sucb a person will first purify his senses through performance of prescribed duties. Having perfected this, he obtains further perfection through the renunciation of all actions (as explained in the previous verse). In this stage, the living entity realizes the atma by the mercy of the Lord. Krishna is promising to explain this process and also conclusion of knowledge concerning the Supreme Lord.
