Chapter 18: Conclusion -- The Perfection of Renunciation
Verse: 77 tac ca samsmritya samsmritya
rupam aty-adbhutam hareh
vismayo me mahan rajan
hrishyami ca punah punah
Translation: O King, as I remember the wonderful form of Lord Krishna, I am struck with wonder more and more, and I rejoice again and again.
Explanation: Sanjaya recalls the amazing universal form of Krishna, and is not only amazed but happy. His amazement came from the incredible manifestation of the Lord that no one had ever seen before. His happiness, that on the request of His pure devotee, Arjuna, Krishna displayed this wonderous form, and Sanjaya, by the mercy of his guru was able to see it.
That is the nature of spiritual experiences. Unlike material experiences that diminish and become stale with time, spiritual experiences are ever increasing in their pleasure potency. One can read the Bhagavad-gita over and over again, thousands of times, and each time there will be new realizations from this spiritual experience.
