Subject: SKyPAC and Capitol galleries
Greetings!
I am excited to share that the SKyPAC and Capitol galleries are currently accepting submissions from youth, local, regional and national artists! The SKyPAC and Capitol galleries are managed and coordinated by the SKyPAC team which includes many local, regional and national professionals. We are here to serve the community and enjoy bringing the BEST art education and exhibition opportunities we can to the region. Please help us share the Call to Artists!
The gallery submission process is a rolling process to give established and emerging artists time to visit the NEW exhibition spaces and submit artwork and ideas for consideration. EVERYONE is welcome to submit!!! Whether you are an individual artist, an “ensemble” or a group, professional, student or amateur; ALL are welcome! Groups must submit an image from each artist included in the exhibition.
The artist submissions will be reviewed by the SKyPAC Artist Advisory Committee. The committee of artists represent the BRADD region and meet bi-annually to review submissions.
As SKyPAC has only been open just over a year, we are building the gallery exhibitions for 2014 right now. In the FALL we will announce the full season of 2014 exhibitions. The SKyPAC marketing team is promoting the exhibitions on the website and throughout the region. If you have any questions about the current or upcoming exhibitions, please feel free to contact Assistant Gallery Educator Megan Federico, at: mfed...@theskypac.com
SKyPAC will continue popular local and regional exhibitions like the Country Peddler Ad Design competition, Scholastic Art Awards, VSA Kentucky, Youth Art and many more. We have initiated new exhibitions through the BRADD compensated Space program with educators like Kim Soule, Montessori of Bowling Green and with Community Partner organizations like the Housing Authority of Bowling Green, Rivendell Behavioral Health Services, VSA Kentucky, SKyPAC Summer Campers and Western Kentucky University. To this date we have featured hundreds of artists and exposed thousands of patrons to talented visual artists in the region.
We hope you will take pride in knowing we could not have done it without YOU!
Recent comment from Education Advisory Committee member Sara Jones:
"My dream, as a mother and educator, is for the world to be accessible to all children. The reality is that my child will likely not be given the opportunity to go and see the world, but the world comes to my child one show at a time at SkyPAC. To be given entrance into the cultures, imaginations, and souls of artists, authors and performers is a gift that will delight my children now and later as the adults who are carved from the experiences the arts afford them."
-Sara Jones
If you have any ideas, suggestions or comments, please always feel free to contact me or anyone on the SKyPAC team! Attached you will find the gallery submission process and, for educators, the BRADD Compensated Space application.
We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
-andee
