BFRTUC,
Attached find the latest potential logos for the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Again this (or variants) would be the official logo of what is used on granite markers and other signage. This logo is separate than the logo for the Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. I would like feedback on these via e-mail to bfrt-unifrorm...@googlegroups.com
Please indicate what you think. We may be soliciting logo designs from others as well.
Separately, I will be working on the outline and prose for a draft document on what we have done so far, so next time we meet we have something substantial to react to.
Best regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Here are some more logos for you. Unfortunately I'm finding that when I draw an
otter without detail it doesn't look like much more than a blob. I included a
deer in the attached file which will probably have more detail than you desire.
I recommend the dragonfly and turtle since their distinct shapes are easily
recognizable. I can add grass, lettering and whatnot into the logos later but I
think it would be easiest if the animal is decided on before I do this.
Let me know if there is anything else your group would like to see.

Emily,
Thank you very much for the logos, they were very helpful for the meeting on Tuesday.
The group liked the stylized Dragonfly in negative. Maybe a little more detail, but not much was desired (somewhat like the Charles River Greenway Blue Heron).
If you would be so kind, we would like to see a Turtle (indigenous to the area, a Wood Turtle perhaps), and Northern River Otter in the requested style.
The River Otters you provided had too much detail, and we did not think it would work for a logo on granite, and would be copied on letter, etc.
The Mayflower, Chickadee and Steam Engine did not have traction (we are a regional trail, not a state trail, and not a lot of desire for another Railroad icon).
Thank you so much. Do not hesitate to call, if desired.
Best regards,
Tom

Hello,
I made up some rough trail designs on the fly. I can make them more detailed
and refined given time but I wanted to get some to you before the meeting on
Tuesday. I'm not sure how long you are accepting ideas for.
Feel free to contact me with feedback.
Thanks,

Marcia,
I appreciate the offer, but I think the process would be too cumbersome given the amount of energy I have (and the committee), and the hope to have a logo by ribbon-cutting (end of August / Early September).
Alternatively I am reaching out to handful of professional graphic designers, and the BFRTUC can review / approve. If you, or anyone on the BFRTUC have recommendations for professional graphic designers, please inform.
My understanding is that we had come up with some basic criteria at the May BFRTUC meeting.
Notwithstanding the above, please help with / provide “the process used and develop some criteria that we might want to suggest.”
Thank you.
