The 16th International Conference of Biomedical Ontology (ICBO 2025) will be held virtually over Zoom.
We are interested in all topics related to ontologies and knowledge representation in biomedicine, biology, and life sciences. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Methodologies and Tools
Novel biomedical ontologies and extensions of existing ontologies, as well as graph databases, knowledge graphs
Ontology Engineering: Methodologies, techniques and practices, composition, modularity, evaluation, and validation
Ontology standards, design patterns, mapping and alignment
Ontology tools: visualization, building, reasoning, evaluation, knowledge discovery
Ontology governance, sustainability, and FAIR data principles
Applications of bio-ontologies in data management and biocuration, data integration and interoperability, machine learning, artificial intelligence, decision support systems
Natural Language Processing (NLP) and ontologies, text mining, specifically LLM and its applications in ontology development
Semantic Web and SemWeb technology: Modeling and Information retrieval ontology-based, Linked open data (LOD) applications
