- Methodologies and Tools

  • Novel biomedical ontologies and extensions of existing ontologies, as well as graph databases, knowledge graphs

  • Ontology Engineering: Methodologies, techniques and practices, composition, modularity, evaluation, and validation

  • Ontology standards, design patterns, mapping and alignment

  • Ontology tools: visualization, building, reasoning, evaluation, knowledge discovery

  • Ontology governance, sustainability, and FAIR data principles

  • Applications of bio-ontologies in data management and biocuration, data integration and interoperability, machine learning, artificial intelligence, decision support systems

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and ontologies, text mining, specifically LLM and its applications in ontology development

  • Semantic Web and SemWeb technology: Modeling and Information retrieval ontology-based, Linked open data (LOD) applications

- Scientific Domains

  • Health Informatics and the role of ontologies

  • Public and population health and global health

  • Mental health and wellness
