1 have the option of a compass which could be overlayed and a slider to change its transparency live on the streetview map.

The idea being that when in a strange location, you can select the compass to overlay the streetview map to point as you rotate your phone.

2. You could have a separate screen for compass only in the view mode, which could have the direction N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW.

3. A email someone option, like the Aautomobile Association in the UK, if you are broken down.
I met someone who had sat nav in their car but no option to have GPS coordinates, to tell others where you actually are.
