Can I set BFG Maps as the 'default' map app. in WebOS?

I'm new to Google groups.
I got here as a result of losing gmaps on my Pre and exploring my
options. I was about to install the "Maps" app that HP is now pushing
on us, but after reading the comments about it, I thought better. I
installed BFG a few minutes ago and I like what I see so far.
My question for the developer - or anyone else in the know - is the
same as what Version_3 asks in Pre Central News discussions "BFGMaps
beta proves that Google Maps can indeed be more functional in webOS"

..in other words, is there a way to change the WebOS' "default map
app" from what was gmaps to BFG maps? I'd like to be able to click a
'map' link in an email and be taken to BFG Maps instead of the gmaps
update page.
This patch or method of setting default map preferences would be great
if it exists.

I think there is a patch that can do this but I do not know where to locate it, I developed the application BFGMaps but did not create a patch for this.
