Nancy Boyd from the Asian American Center of Frederick thought you might be able to assist me. I am reaching out to you asking for your help in identifying and contacting the people shown in the attached photographs. The setting for these photos is a portion of the former Hargett Farm property along Butterfly Lane, which is posted “No Trespassing.” The property also has security cameras.
I believe the pictured individuals are hunting ground hogs in an effort to protect the community gardens adjacent to the posted property, and for whatever reason, they are choosing to cross the posted property to get there. I also have reason to believe the guns they are carrying are BB guns.
There are three concerns we have at the police department about these images:
· Trespassing on posted property is a criminal offense
· Discharging any firearm, to include a BB gun, is illegal inside city limits
· Most importantly, the proximity of this property to the newly opening Butterfly Ridge Elementary School means there is a good chance that a parent or staff member may see these people walking near the school with what appears to be an actual rifle, setting off a panic!
If someone associated with the school were to call in a sighting like this, the police response would be significant and potentially have a tragic outcome. So, if there is any method you have for putting the word out, we would greatly appreciate it. Our interest at this point is not to get anyone in trouble. We just want it to stop.
I have also attached the most recent list of people who have been allocated plots in the community garden. I have attempted to make contact at some of these locations without success. The addresses are two years old and many people have moved. However, maybe having the names will help you.
