Tut may have died from sickle cell disease

The Independent is reporting that King Tut may have died from sickle
cell disease. A Hamburg research insititue specializing in tropical
diseases is saying that it is more likley that Tutankhamun died from
the genetic disorder rather than malaria as the inherited disease
which is passed on by both parents having the disease gives an
immunity to malaria itself. The institute is quoted as saying they
