Dear Tara Mam,Thanks a lot for the confirmation.To give you a brief overview, whole program will be of 3 hour duration. First 1.5 hours will be talks by 3 - 4 social entrepreneurs covering different facets of social enterprise dynamics. We would like you to share your thoughts on "Social Entrepreneurship: Past, Present and Future". I will be sending you list of other speakers in next couple of days.After that, there will be a small bplan competition where students will be pitching ideas about their social ventures to you and other judges for inputs, guidance and loopholes they need to plugin to start their ventures.Also, kindly let us know if we need to arrange for a cab to pick you up from your place. Greetings from National Social Entrepreneurship Forum (NSEF), By way of introduction - I am Gaurav Makkar, Director, National Social Entrepreneurship Forum, a Non-profit organization to promote social entrepreneurship in universities across India. The goal of NSEF is to produce future social entrepreneurs from these institutions. I had a chance to meet you in Bangalore last year at 'Sociopreneur'.
I am writing this mail to invite you to participate and share your experiences at our NSEF Idea Conference to be held on August 17th in Chennai at Loyola Institute of Business Administration. Here is a brief overview about the Idea Conference:
In an effort to create more social entrepreneurs, encourage social innovation and provide a platform for young people to gain exposure about various social innovations, different facets of social entrepreneurship in India and a place to discuss ideas on social issues and solutions NSEF plans to conduct Idea Conferences in colleges across India. Through Idea Conference, NSEF plans to create a thriving ecosystem of social entrepreneurship, which will serve multiple purposes of:
a. Spreading ideas about the innovations and existing models that are acting as change agents in the society.
b. Triggering ideas in young people which can lead to social enterprises.
c. Nurturing the next generation of innovators to solve problems at the bottom of pyramid and ultimately create the next cohort of leaders who will lead the movement in the development sector.
I take pleasure in inviting you to speak and mentor students’ ideas at NSEF Idea Conference between 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM on August 17th 2011 on the topic "Social Entrepreneurship: Past, Present and Future” .
The event will be held at the campus of, Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai.
