Thanks a lot for the confirmation for the event.

We would like you to speak about your experiences as a social entrepreneur, how young people like you are leaving lucrative jobs and careers to start social enterprises and how it is going to define the next growth story of India.

On the mentoring front, there will be a small bplan competition after your talk where students will be pitching ideas about their social ventures to you for judge and give inputs, guidance and loopholes they need to plugin to start their ventures.

Thank you. Sorry for my delayed reply as I was ravelling. Yes, I am happy to participate in the NSEF - Villgro Idea Conference and speak to students. The date and time are OK with me.

 

You also talk about 'mentor stundets' ideas' as part of my role. Please let me know what does that involve? Also please clarify you want me to talk about my experience as a social entrepreneur and / or opportunities in social entrepreneurship.

In an effort to create more social entrepreneurs, encourage social innovation and provide a platform for young people to gain exposure about various social innovations, different facets of social entrepreneurship in India and a place to discuss ideas on social issues and solutions NSEF plans to conduct Idea Conferences in colleges across India. Through Idea Conference, NSEF plans to create a thriving ecosystem of social entrepreneurship, which will serve multiple purposes of:

 

a. Spreading ideas about the innovations and existing models that are acting as change agents in the society.

b. Triggering ideas in young people which can lead to social enterprises.

c. Nurturing the next generation of innovators to solve problems at the bottom of pyramid and ultimately create the next cohort of leaders who will lead the movement in the development sector.

 

I take pleasure in inviting you to speak and mentor students’ ideas at NSEF - Villgro Idea Conference between 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM on August 17th 2011 on the topic “Young Professionals to drive Indian Social Entrepreneurship Sector and hence Social Innovation in the next decade.” 

 

The event will be held at the campus of, Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai.
