In 2005 a German company called Nautilus GmbH Laboratoriumsbedarf announced it was launching a nicotine beer called NicoShot, though it has yet to obtain regulatory clearance; earlier, nicotine lollipops proliferated in the US before the Food and Drug Administration banned them. Otherwise, the most obvious market entrant is probably the one the public health community would least like to see – the tobacco industry itself.
