Ok guys,
Here's the updated BS schedule. I took the liberty of assigning some of them to you, feel free to swap with me or anyone else if you prefer. I realise some of the chapters are quite heavy so we may not be able to do them justice in one session, but
let's just run with this for now and we can improvise what works best along the way.
A heads up that the next chapter is 30 pages long, so do start reading early to avoid rushing through. For starters, we will also read through Exodus 19-20, and will warm up by reciting the ten commandments by heart (the version on pg. 56). Again, I won't be reading through every line in the chapter, but will focus the discussion on these questions:
1. (pg .52) Do you agree with the four cover principles proposed? What examples of these principles in action can you think of most instinctively?
2. (pg. 66-69, 72-75) Do you agree that the
Ten Commandments are more liberating than prohibitory?
3. (pg. 55-57) How would you respond to someone who says that the Ten Commandments, like many other OT laws, were a product of their time and should no longer apply for Christians living in the NT age?
Thanks everyone. Next meeting is at the Rongs, 16 May.
James
