Hello,

I'm passing along a few events for today that have come across our
email boxes that might be of interest to people.

More generally, I'd love to be able to provide some sort of clearing
house here for info of this type so please send along anything
relevant and let me know if you have thoughts on the best way to
present it that is sufficiently informative but not spammy!

First, Tom Sgouros of RI Policy Reporter will be talking tonight at
Books On The Square about "state government, our economy, and the

Second, The Providence Planning Dept. has recently released a draft
College Hill/Fox Pt/WaylandSq Neighborhood Plan that would allow up to
15 stories on the Shooters site for office/hotel/residential use, in
exchange for loosely defined "community amenities," such as a wider
riverwalk and pedestrian plaza. The City Plan Commission (CPC) will
hear public comments on the Plan Tuesday, Sept. 15, 4:45 pm at 400
Westminster Street, 4th floor. More info at
