A reminder that the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) is
holding a “Race to the Top” public forum on Monday night, December 7,
6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Central High School, 70 Fricker Street,
Providence. This forum presents an opportunity for us to voice our
support (or concern) for the reforms that Commissioner Gist and RIDE
are advancing, such as criterion-based hiring of teachers and a fair
and adequate state aid education funding formula. It is very important
that we have a large turn-out of parents and community members
concerned with increasing the quality of our children's education at
this forum to voice our opinions, concerns and desires.
