PAEW urges citizens and residents to rationalize water
Public Authority for Electricity and Water urges citizens and residents to rationalize water consumption and take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any water crisis during implementation of new pipelines of 1600mm in various wilayats of Governorate of Muscat.
Implementation of the project includes installing a new pipeline of diameter 1600mm to replace the existing pipeline of diameter 600mm, which were installed in the seventies and has reported various cracks and leakages. During the period of implementation from February 12-14, water supply will be stopped for three days, and is expected to cause a shortage in water supply to Al Khuwair (except Al Khuwair 25), Al Qurum, Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos, Hay Al Sarooj, Madinat Al Ilam, Ministries & Embassies District, Watayyah, Wilayats of Boushar, Muscat, Amerat and Mutrah.
PAEW requests all the citizens and residents of the above-mentioned areas to store enough water before February 12th for meeting the needs for 48hours, in addition to screening the household connections to make sure that there is no leakage of water. The authority requests all the citizens and residents to take precautionary measures, to store enough water to meet their needs during the period of disconnection and to use water rationally. In order to avoid any water shortage, the authority recommends not to use water for unnecessary actions such as irrigation of home gardens, washing cars with hose pipes, washing home floors, using dish washers and washing machines etc.
Kindly ensure that you will be having enough stock of water....
