Hi everyone!
Hyattsville Ultimate is hosting a free spring hat tournament this Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Driskell Park in Hyattsville, MD. Check in begins at noon, games will be played at 1, 2, and 3pm. See you there!

Full Details:
This will be a coed mixed Hat Tournament, where players of all skill levels and genders are randomly assigned to teams, creating a fun and social way to meet new people and enjoy some competitive Ultimate. You don’t need a full team to sign up—just bring your enthusiasm!

Player Cap & Waitlist:
The tournament is capped at 48 players. If the cap is reached, we’ll start a waitlist. Unregistered players may not be placed on a team.
Format:
• Teams: There will be four teams, and each team will play against the other teams once.
• Check-In & Team Assignments: 12- 12:30 PM
• First Pull: 1:00 PM sharp
• Captains: Each team will be assigned a captain. Captains will be responsible for managing player substitutions equitably and helping the game flow smoothly. They should be familiar with USA Ultimate rules and Hyattsville Ultimate custom rules. Each captain will receive a free Hyattsville Ultimate jersey or disc of their choice.
Schedule:
• Date: Saturday, April 4th, 2026 • Time: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
• Games: 3 games to 11 points, with a hard cap at 50 minutes per game. (After 50 minutes, finish the current point; then play one final point if 11 has not been reached)
Fees & Merchandise:
• Tournament Fee: Pay what you want, via cash, Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp.
• HyUlt Discs: Available for $10 each at the event.
• HyUlt Reversible Jerseys: Limited quantities available for $25 on the day of the event.
Team Identification:
If you don’t purchase a jersey, please bring a WHITE shirt AND a DARK shirt to help with team identification. You may not be allowed to play without proper attire.
Hyattsville House Rules:
• Keep It Friendly: Be respectful and courteous to everyone, both in person and online. Avoid contact with other players, even if you can reach the disc first.
• Keep it Kid-Friendly: All comments and posts, both on this Facebook page and at games (if kids are present), must be PG.
• No Grey Areas: Bring a WHITE shirt AND a DARK shirt for team identification. Avoid wearing ambiguous colors like grey, sky blue, or light pink. Substitute players and spectators should stand at least 3 yards off of the sideline, to prevent confusion and interference.
• Be Disc-Respectful: Don't spike or step on discs. Plastic is a non-renewable resource.
• Cartwheel: Dropping the pull isn't a turnover, but you must attempt a cartwheel as penance. If you can't safely cartwheel, perform a pushup or another symbolic gesture.
• Field Size: We play on a 40 yard wide field with a 70 yard long center zone and two 15 yard deep end zones.
• Treefense: A disc that strikes a tree branch is still live and may be caught by an inbounds player.
• Except where listed above, we follow USA Ultimate rules.
