Hi BOC!
I ski jumped with John Wight on the Sunday River access road when I was in high school. Now I am eager to take my elementary aged kids to the newly refurbished Nansen Ski Jumps in Milan, NH as much as I can! In support of that mission I volunteer as much as I can with Nansen Ski Club.

This vacation week I will bring my kids up most afternoons to play on the little kid jump (K10). It isn’t groomed so the deep, soft snow makes it more confidence inspiring and fun for beginner kids (slow conditions!).

Please anyone who wants to come and join us! It is NH state park land, the facility is open to the public all the time. The only restriction is that when we do finally get it all groomed we put a barricade on the jump to prevent the groomed surface from becoming damaged (usually only a couple days before the planned event).

I could really use some help shoveling the neglected stairs and, later in the week, ski-packing the K10 in-run.

On Saturday 2/28 Nansen Ski Club is hosting a major high school event. So I need to get the little kid K10 in shape for the younger-sibling-side-show that always accompanies their high school events. Everyone is invited to spectate that event and bring their kids to the K10 kids event that day. However, that Saturday is also the Bill Koch League festival and most of the kids BOC supports will be there instead. So this informal fun over vacation week is our alternative to participating in that official jumping event.

Please come to the jump anytime/all the time each afternoon all vacation week. I’ll have my kids, snacks, and shovels and would appreciate anyone coming with shovels, sleds, kids to hang out, play in the snow, maybe do a few jumps with alpine skis. Just come play outside with us!

Thank you in advance for any shoveling and jump packing help you may be able to provide. Can’t wait to meet up at the ski jumps!
