Well, it has been a while since I've sent out an update.
Things have been steadily improving here. Not a lot to report each day, but we can see improvement over a couple of three days. Bethany's stamina is slowly increasing and things are right on track according to the Dr. Tomorrow (Wednesday) will make just two weeks from the date of the transplant and they told us it would take 6 weeks to recover from surgery, so we're doing good.
Mary is reporting similar improvement as she is being supported by her family at her home in Mississippi. Bethany and I appreciate the love and care her family is giving her. It means a lot to know that she has loving support.
Bethany had to get a couple of liters of fluid via IV today because she was starting to dehydrate. The Dr says this is totally normal because for 3 1/2 years she has had to limit her fluid intake to a very minimal amount, but now she has to drink well over a gallon per day. She has been doing due diligence in keeping up her fluid intake, but even so, she had to get assistance. Bethany is quite competitive and can take things like this as a failure on her part so we are trying to keep her encouraged. Thankfully, her moments of dispair are short.
We are very grateful for renewed life. Today (Tuesday) marks two weeks without doing dialysis. For this we are grateful.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
