Sunday's Beth El Kevah

Hello All,

 

I'm really looking forward to seeing you on Sunday for the Beth El Kevah gathering.  Dorothy is looking forward to seeing everyone too and has been thinking a lot about her teaching which will be about Purim.  She wanted me to let you all know that when we meet, Purim will be less than two weeks away. At Sunday's class, we'll do a close reading of the beginning of the Megillah, focusing on Vashti. What does the text actually say about her? How many legends have we added to what we thought was the Biblical text? We'll look deeply into the legends about Vashti, and try to understand her role in the whole Megillah. And we'll sing!

 

I think Sunday is going to be a lot of fun and I really look forward to seeing you all.  Please come at 7:15 p.m. for socializing and 7:30 for class.
