A member of our group suggested at Skulltag. That was our other Doom choice, but it was a clumsy Linux install. Maybe I grabbed the wrong file...what are you using to install?

If you want to host Open Area, we can host the Doom server.

Could you put me in contact with one of your network guys? Maybe we can set something up for Thursday's test.

I was planning on running openarena, however, given that you guys will be handling that, I may run something else.

One of our network guys can better handle the setup of the vpn, as I'm the game guy, more or less. I'd be interested in running a skulltag mod called "stronghold," however. The setup is easy enough. We will be testing this Thursday as a leadup to the lan party if you would like to coordinate something then.

The proposed Cross-site LAN event is about a week and a half away.

Are you guys still in?

The Beta Two LAN party runs on Saturday From 3pm to midnight. I know
NESIT starts later and goes into the wee hours of the morning. If we
overlap the times into a window, that would be good to test the
connectivity and logistics of a cross-site event.

If each site could host a server of one or two games during the window,
attendees would have a larger selection of games to play and not kill
all the resources of one site. The question is how to connect the sites.

Do we want the ChaosVPN, another VPN, or each site host an
external/public server?
I'd like to try some sort of VPN to get all the attendees on the same
subnet.

What games will your site host?
Beta 2 will host Open Arena and/or Doom Legacy.

I am looking for suggestions and will be grateful your input.
