MTVUnplugged is an American television series on MTV. It showcases recorded live performances of popular music artists playing acoustic or "unplugged" variations of songs. The show aired regularly from 1989 to 1999. From 2000 to 2009, it aired less frequently and was usually billed as MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. Since 2009, MTV Unplugged specials have aired occasionally, sometimes through online or subscription only. Episodes and specials have tended to showcase one artist or group, playing a combination of their hit songs and covers.

The term "unplugged" has come to refer to music that would usually be played on electrified instruments (such as an electric guitar or synthesizer) but is rendered instead on instruments that can be played without electricity, for example acoustic guitar or traditional piano, although a microphone is still used. In most cases, the bass (or bass guitar) is amplified, and a Hammond organ is sometimes used.

MTV launched MTV Unplugged in 1989.[3] The show featured musicians performing unplugged versions of their electric repertoire. Many of these performances were subsequently released as albums, often featuring the title Unplugged. It was believed that the show was inspired by a 1989 MTV Video Music Awards acoustic performance by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora; however, the show was already in production.[3]

The MTV show titled Unplugged, drawing on this phenomenon, was created by producers Robert Small and Jim Burns.[1] Songwriter Jules Shear hosted the first 13 episodes.[4] The pilot and first seven episodes were produced by Bruce Leddy, after which Associate Producer Alex Coletti took over for the remainder of the series, producing the show through 2001.[5] After the first 13 episodes, the role of host was eliminated.[5] The show was produced by Viacom and RSE Inc[6] and was most frequently directed by Milton Lage and Beth McCarthy.

The rock band Tesla performed an all-acoustic live set on July 2, 1990 that was released under the title Five Man Acoustical Jam in November of that year, following the format established the previous year by MTV Unplugged.[37]

The fourth season of Canadian Idol featured an Unplugged night which was held at Toronto's Masonic Temple. This episode of Canadian Idol was a tribute to MTV in two ways: a direct tribute to the Unplugged format, and to celebrate the recent licensing of the new MTV Canada which was located in the Masonic Hall until 2012.[39]

On July 30, 2020, Code Orange performed a livestreamed acoustic set on Twitch spoofing MTV Unplugged under the title of "MUDTV Mudbanger's Ball" during the COVID-19 pandemic.[40] The band described it as "conceptually akin to classic MTV Unplugged performances, but with nightmarish digital twists and turns."[41] The performance was later remastered and released on September 4, 2020, as their album Under The Skin.[42]

I just bought a brand new Arlo Go. While plugged in, my Arlo Go works perfectly. However, it goes "offline" when I unplug it from the power adapter. This camera is supposed to be used off the power grid, and thats how I intend to use it. What am I doing wrong, or what's wrong with the camera?

I figured it out. The battery terminal connectors on the inside of the unit were not making full connection with the battery. I simply bent them just enough for them to make full connection. The unit is up and running fine now. Thanks for the input!

The LED never blinks when unplugged. The camera will not give me the option to turn it on/off unless it is plugged in. However, when plugged in, it works perfectly. Is there some kind of setting that you have to tell it to work off the battery?

It is odd that the cams would all three immediately go to a new setup requirement just from being unplugged. As you indicated, they should just log right back into the network and your account on the server. But, now that a factory reset has been done, a new setup is mandatory.

Have you tried deleting one of the cams from the app and then doing a new setup? Are you running a dual band single SSID network or seperate? Have you tried it while disabling the cellular network data? Disabling the 5GHz band on the WiFi?

I have had my Dell Inspiron laptop for about 4 years now. The problem started this summer, but I haven't tried to resolve it until now. Randomly while I am working on my computer, in the bottom right hand corner a notification pops up that will say "You just plugged a device into the audio jack" and then a few seconds later it will say "You just unplugged a device into the audio jack" even when I am not inserting anything into the audio jack. This will go on constantly, honestly for 30 minutes at a time and then will randomly stop and start up again out of nowhere. It comes from the Realtek HD audio manager. It is very annoying because if I try to listen to music from the speakers, it will constantly think I am putting headphones in and the sound will cut out for a few seconds then come back on. The only way to resolve it is to actually put in headphones and listen through my headphones.

Hello. When audio problems occur, the first step is usually to download install a fresh copy of the audio driver from your support page. (Can't give a link because you did not name your model and operating system.) If the fresh copy is the same version as the currently installed driver, you might have to first remove the current driver files.

1. Open the Device Manager.

2. Expand the "Sound, Video & Game Controllers" section.

3. Right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" and select to uninstall.

4. Put a check mark in the option to delete the driver software, and then ok.

5. Restart the laptop.

When the laptop boots up, it will look for Realtek files. If none found then it will install the native driver. If an earlier version of a Realtek driver had been downloaded then its files could still be in the laptop and Windows would install that version of the Realtek, not the native driver. So after step 5, go back to the Device Manager and check again for a Realtek driver. Keep uninstalling & restarting until "Realtek" no longer appears under Sound...Controllers. If you see "High Definition Audio Device" that is the native driver, although in Win10 it can have a different name.

If you have the same symptoms when using the native driver, then there is a good chance that hardware failure has occurred. If the plug-sensing circuit fails then Windows will think there is a plug in the jack even when there is none. Details of that issue in the Headphone Jack FAQ.

Following updates of DCE on several servers recently I have noticed a LOT of sensors on device are now reading unplugged. The most effected devices are APC Rectifiers and Enlogic PDU's. On the Enlogic PDU's all power related sensors have been duplicated with all the 'old' sensors now saying 'unplugged'. I think this has caused some sort of knock on effect to DCO too. This appears to have happened on all Enlogic Inline meters and PDU's on the DCE servers.

On the Rectifiers all but one of the sensors has been duplicated with all the old ones saying 'unplugged'. I know I can get rid of the 'unplugged' sensors by selecting them in sensor view and deleting them. However many of the power sensors have been shown on maps to display the power usage of the PDU and have also been used in virtual sensors which therefore also now show unplugged.

Given that there are 100's of effected sensors across many devices on multiple servers that now need to be corrected, is there a quick fix for this or will I have to manually update every single maps and sensor on every server? Is this expected behavior? I could find nothing in the release notes to suggest this may happen.

This is a known DDF issue. Duplicate sensor IDs were created for interaction with DCO. I do not believe this was fully international however it is being looked at. We do have a newer DDF that can be added to the system so that the now unplugged sensors will revert to their original communications. I believe however that for each unplugged sensor, a new sensor was made. This would require that after upgrading the DDF, the new sensors would need to be removed...from each device.
