Hi all,

I have built my website with Dreamweaver. After making changes to my site I 'sync' it. It shows the changes have occured in my remote and local view but upon loading the site online nothing has changed. All my ftp is correct and the connection is fine. I'm sure there must be a problem with my BT hosting package as I think I've exhausted all the options my end. I hope this is understandable and would love to hear any response and/or suggestions.

Kind Regards
Dan

In the site manager panel under the advanced tab is a section marked remote info where it says Host Directory enter the words public_html/ this selects exactly what folder the FTP is pointing to. Without it anything sent to the site ends up in root directory where it is not visible to internet users.

p.s I have tried clearing my cache and all my browsing history so its not a problem with my browser.

the BT file manager also says the files have been modified but still nothing on the live website!!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your quick response. Your answer prompted me to try and manually upload each file individually using the bt file manager - it worked

However it is a rather laborous solution. It would be much easier if I could do all the updates through dreamweaver.

I remember having this problem before and can't remember how it was resolved! Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

Dan

When I have looked at this I have found my 'index' file to be a security file which does not open an expected home page in dreamweaver. It says see download info for 'how to edit'. In the download info I find no help to use dreamweaver. I have an addon template responsive site.

I have asked the question to the addons team, but the response was not so helpful with no advice at all regarding dreamweaver. In fact the response was somewhat 'scripted' and not what I had hoped for.

Use Wamp server Copy your shop to c:\wamp\www\prestashop, copy database to /localhost/phpmyadmin, then change database connection information in /prestashop/config/settings.inc.php Now you can set dreamweaver to use your local shop as test server.

This post was made a while back, but there are solutions online for importing a frontpage website into dreamweaver. Follow this youtube video for a step by step guide on how to get this done, =WB2KWHYr6JI
