Job Title Mid Level IT Database Administrator
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: * Excellent problem solving and communication skills including working with business and technology counterparts on prioritization and change resolution.
* A working knowledge of recent RDBMS platforms; Microsoft Sql Server 2000, 2005, 2008
* Very strong SQL skills with focus on replication and clustering
* Experience with production incident response in a fast-paced customer service environment.
* Excellent skills with proven experience being a member of a database administration team.
* Trouble-shooting skills with proven ability to identify and address root cause.
* Able to function in multi-task/multi-system environment with continuous focus on improvement and flexibility.
* Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills are required.
* Highly analytical and detailed oriented, with strong problem solving skills.
* Exhibit initiative and creativity and commitment to excellence and quality.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* BS degree in computer science; or minimum 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Hands on experience in database administration in a Microsoft Sql Server Environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* Must be able to operate PC.
* Must be able to commit to being on call for a week every three weeks, performing production moves on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoon/evenings
