Hi Andrea,
Thanks for taking the time to e-mail me. As a new user of google groups myself, I know it takes a few tries to get familiar with the system.
Although e-mail is simple and familiar, a formal group has some substantial advantages that make it worthwhile:
-If someone joins the group they will automatically receive all e-mails sent to the group, without every user having to update their e-mail lists. Same goes for when someone wants to leave the group.
-Documents can be edited simultaneously by different members. And the latest version of the file is always available. no need to keep track of versions or take turns working on stuff.
-Anyone sending messages can choose to e-mail the whole group (default), individual members, or a subgroup. There is no limitations.
-Everyone in the group can see who is in the group by clicking on 'Members'.
-Someone from outside the group can e-mail us with information/questions, etc. because the group itself has an e-mail address. When people e-mail the group, automatically everyone in the group receives the information.
And the list goes on.
I ask that everyone please give this platform a fair try. I am available to each of you individually if you have questions. I can be reached at
626-429-2459. If anyone has problems finding what they need, I can walk them through it step by step while on the computer. And I can also do a demonstration at our first group meeting, to be scheduled this month.
Best,
Michelle Rojas

I feel lame as I should be better at this but I cannot see any of the editing features, files, etc. I am entirely old school in the email generation. Can we share files through email? Can you not bcc us so we can see who else is in this group? I think widening the frame would be nice as all I know are Michelle and Janice at this point. Sorry to sabotage the google group but I prefer email and am not sure how to contribute when the interface is not familiar.
Thanks,
