Amazing flashlight

This light combines excellent build quality with some unusual and really useful features. Fit and finish are excellent, but the aspects that make the light amazing are its flexibility and power. The light will run on regular AA or CR123 batteries, or it will also run on rechargeable batteries which, with RCR123 batteries, give over 500 Lumens at full power. The light is a true "pocket rocket" with this kind of output, but even regular alkaline batteries give impressive performance. This output is combined with an exceptionally even beam profile with the XML Led which produces a flood-like beam, but still with good throw. The smoothly rotating power level selector ring can be adjusted as the flashlight is held in the hand without any complicated sequences of tailcap clicks or whatever. The light ramps up or down continuously rather than jumping from preset level to level so you can choose exactly the level of light you need. Tactical strobe and SOS are neatly separated from the main light feature, but the strobe is instantly available and if it is needed the SOS is accessible with just three quick back and forth twists of the ring. The light has a tailcap on/off switch which gives momentary or constant-on control, and although the switch is easy to operate it is recessed just a bit so the light can tail-stand for use as a candle if desired. The most amazing thing about the light - which is many times more powerful than a large D cell Maglite - is that so much functionality comes in such a small, lightweight flashlight that fits easily in the palm of your hand. Overall a very high quality flashlight with real flexibility for every day carry or tactical/emergency use. The light is not inexpensive, but it is worth every penny.

Very Nice Flashlight

Nice compact design, only requires ONE battery!! BUT, the AA extender causes the beam to flicker, and not stay as bright as it can be. I mean you have to tap the flashlight to adjust the light beam, and that is fine if you are sitting still. On the other hand, I did try this flashlight w/o the AA extender, and placed a CR23 battery in it, and it worked just GREAT! So all in all, forget the AA extender, use the CR23 instead, and you will have a very compact, very well lit flashlight.

Crazy Bright but able to Dimmm

Best feature - Dim-able
New lights like these with 3v batteries are just too damn bright
when working up close, also can be seen a mile away..
They are great but sometimes u don't need all of that -
Sometimes u want to preserve your night vision while cooking over an open fire..
This light goes from zero to crazy bright.
A zoom function to focus would make this light perfect.
It's small but powerful and easy to control- better than my PA10 Jetbeam because of the control/dimming
even though slightly larger.
It has Strobe, SOS - by turning dial past lowest setting -
not by clicking the same switch, as every other light.
This makes it supremely convenient and controllable without having to cycle thru features.
Just turn on with rear clicky button and adjust dial.
Keeping light level low when want but having
the capability of 500+ blinding lumens when needed.
As a bonus, though they fail to mention in any documentation:
in addition to 1.5 AA Batts -
This light Accepts 14500 Batteries
(3.6v, 3.7volt lithium ion rechargeable)
which are AA in size but 3+ volts.
