Sierra Club Event Highlights the Coordinated Attack on Clean Energy

On Thursday, Aug. 2, the Sierra Club and allies will hold a rally in coordination with the release a new report that exposes the coordinated attack on renewable energy.

The event will highlight the findings from the new report, Clean Energy Under Siege, including exposing the money trail behind attacks on renewable energy in politics and covert misinformation campaigns. The findings shed a new light on Congress’s current struggle to renew the Production Tax Credit (PTC) for wind energy, an emerging energy source that has the potential to provide half of Nevada’s energy needs and employ thousands of workers. In many cases, elected representatives who oppose clean energy tax credits support multi-billion-dollar taxpayer subsidies for oil companies.

Who: Sierra Club members, volunteers and supporters

What: Rally to support new Sierra Club report Clean Energy Under Siege

Where: At the corner of Grand Central Parkway and Charleston Boulevard, outside the Americans for Prosperity offices.

When: 9 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 2

Visuals: Dozens of participants will carry signs reinforcing the pro-jobs, pro-clean energy message supported by the majority of American voters.
