Dear Vinny,

Support a Timely Transition
to a Clean Energy Future
for NV:

Reno & Las Vegas - Oct. 3 & 5
Moapa Housing near NV coal plant
btn_orange RSVP

Earlier this month, on the heels of the Clean Energy Summit held in Las Vegas, activists like you collectively sent over 150 letters into the State Office of Energy in support of more energy efficient building codes. That's probably the most they've heard from the grassroots about building codes in a long time.

Nevadans are working hard to set the stage for a clean energy future, but NV Energy is not keeping with the times. NV Energy wants the Public Utilities Commission to approve a plan that would keep Reid Gardener, a dirty coal-fired plant in Moapa, until 2023 -- far more time than we think they need to economically transition to cleaner energy.

Help us make a strong stand for a timely transition to clean energy at an upcoming consumer input session in Reno or Las Vegas.

Here are the details:

WHAT: A session for the Nevada Public Utilities Commission to hear from consumers (that's you!)

WHEN:
Reno: Monday, October 3rd from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
Las Vegas: Wednesday, October 5th from 1:30 - 2:30  p.m and 6 - 8 p.m.

WHERE:
Reno: Washoe County Commission Chambers (1001 E. 9th Street, Building A Reno, NV 89512) [Click here for directions]
Las Vegas: Public Utilities Commission Office (9075 West Diablo Drive Las Vegas, NV 89148) [Click here for directions]

Questions: Contact Vinny Spotleson at vinny.s...@sierraclub.org or call the Las Vegas Sierra Club Office at (702) 732-7750

We know that transitioning to clean energy is as vital for our air quality and to mitigate global warming as it is to the future of Nevada's economy. Twelve years is too long to wait for an end to coal pollution from Reid Gardner.

Come tell the PUC to turn down NV Energy's attempt to drag their feet on a clean energy future at the upcoming consumer input sessions in Reno and Las Vegas. RSVP now.

Thanks for all you do for the environment.

Sincerely,

Vinny Spotleson
