I Installed this winch on a 2014 Yamaha Girzzly. It was professionally installed, the contactor box was installed under the seat where it was ventilated and 100 percent waterproof. I used the winch once to pull out of a ditch, then unrolled it and rolled it back in twice in different occasions just to make sure the cable was stored properly, the third time i tried using it, the winch would randomly stop working and now only winches in, but not out. Took it to a local winch center and they told me contractor box had failed. The installation was double checked and everything was perfect, grounds, terminals, etc. The cables and controls (the remote and the handlebar mounted one) are very poor quality, the screws rusted in the first rain, and the quality of the cables is very poor. The worst part of it is that I can't even find a smittybilt website to order another contractor box. I guess I should just really throw it away and go with Warn, thing I should have done at the beginning.
