Hi,
I want to have a tromb wall. In the summer night, I reduce the temperature of the wall with ZoneVentilation, and in summer day I want to use from the coolness of the wall.
I should use ZoneCrossMixing/ ZoneMixing or the airflownetwork?
It is important for me that the air pass the wall (I mean that the entire wall will in contact with the air pass besides it).
Thanks,
Helia Taheri

Hi,

I don't have any exact answer for your question. Personally, I don't think simulating such a system with user-provided air exchange rates makes much sense, but we can always argue like: what happens if we have this much air exchange and how much heating energy we can potentially get. Besides, the simple zone mixing approach is a good point to start. However, if you want to use AFN, first you should make sure that this module meets trombe wall requirements.

A suggestion: Take a look at two trombe wall examples of EnergyPlus. One of them doesn't have any air exchange and the other one is an active wall with a fan.
A reminder: Set the Zone Inside Convection Algorithm and Solar Distribution properly.

Best,
