Hi everybody,

i have a working basemodel in Energy+ but when i want to import it in Sketchup with the idf-import i get this Errormessage:

"OpenStudio could not import all EnergyPlus Idf objects into your model, 31 objects could not be translated

To export these objects please use
'Plugins->OpenStudio->Export->Export Untranslated EnergyPlus Idf'

The following errors occurred on import.

Error: WorkspaceObject is not IddObjectType: Zone

Error: Unknown IddObjectType: 'HVACTemplate:Zone:IdealLoadsAirSystem'

Error: WorkspaceObject is not IddObjectType: Zone

Error: WorkspaceObject is not IddObjectType: Zone

Error: WorkspaceObject is not IddObjectType: Zone

Error: WorkspaceObject is not IddObjectType: Zone

Error: Unknown IddObjectType: 'Output:VariableDictionary'

The following warnings occurred on import.

Warning: Unable to set Object of type 'OS:People' and named 'offices_people''s Activity Level schedule to Object of type 'OS:Schedule:Compact' and named 'Activity', likely because of a ScheduleTypeLimits conflict."

All the information I added in Energy+ gets lost. What is a proper way to import my idf file from Energy+, change the geometry and export it for Enrgy+ without loosing everything?
Thanks for your help.

I dont think, its a good idea to import back basemodel's idf into OS for modification. It will have some issues related to the warnings you are getting, cz currently OS might not be able to handle many functionalities/objects of EP (which are there in IDF). So I would say, you should work-over the basecase's OSM file to modify/model geometry related things (such as overhangs etc) for your proposed case (with ECM one). Importing IDF will give you interoperability issues which you are getting right now. Hope you got my point.

Hi,

As Veb suggested, you can modify geometry with OSM files.

But about importing IDF files:

OpenStudio is not able to import all the IDF objects. But it imports geometry without problem.
So when you import your IDF file in OpenStudio and you change the geomtry, export it with a new IDF name. This new IDF has the correct geometry but not all other objects that you made in IDF editor. So you must replace the geomtery in your old IDF file, with the correct geometry elements (like surface, sub surface or overhang) from this newly generated idf file.
