I am making my glass fracture patterns. I remember that I need
cardboard and glass but I can't remember the exact procedure...do I
need to double up on the cardboard, do I need to tape the entire
glass?! Help please!

I bought  cheap 8 x 10 frames at the dollar store and then covered the entire glass surface with packing tape.  I then took a nail and hammer and created the fractures in different patterns.  I did about 8 different ones.  I have my students rotate around the room and draw the fracture pattern and then number which was first, second, etc.

yes - diane I did that same thing as you and had kids rotate.  I ended up leaving the cardboard behings the glass as I taped it up, and it still worked fine. Each one fractured a little differently - it was fun!

here is my question for the group - has anyone created something like a schoolwide investigation? I'd like to get other staff involved but I'm just not sure logistically how to set it up. Would love to hear any ideas you have!
