Serial Killers Project

I wanted to share this resource with you all if you would like.  I did a project called Cereal Box Serial Killers, where students used an actual cereal box to decorate.  The kids love this project!!  ONe of our bio teachers did cellular cereal, and I asked if he would mind if I used the template/idea and tailor it to serial killers.  They do research, create puzzles/games/graphic organizers to go on the back, a catchy slogan, mfg. symbol, and put a toy inside that connects to their serial killer.  Some of these boxes are hysterical!!  I had one girl take apart her Ken doll and put an arm, leg, and head in her cereal box representing Jeffrey Dahmer.  I've seen everything from balloons to represent Gacy, ropes, cords, handcuffs, ping pong paddles, vampire teeth, eyeballs...you name it!!  Some of the clever names are:

Bundy Jacks

Dahmer Bites

Black Wid-O's

Prostitute Pebbles (ahahahahahhaha!!)

Skin Flakes (Ed Gein)

Shoot 'Ems (DC Sniper)

Ripper Bran

Ted's Frosted Mini Bombs (Kazinsky)

Funky Bunches of Freaks (Gacy)

Snatch 'Ems (Burke and Hare)

Seriously??? I think this is inappropriate at best, appalling to say the least.  I can't believe parents have not expressed a problem with this.  Imagine for one moment how the victims' families would view this.
