I have an Asus Laptop that I am using for work and the Page Up and Page Down keys are the same button as the Up and Down Arrow keys. When I try to use the "ctrl + pg up" shortcut to switch between excel sheets, excel performs the "ctrl + up arrow" short cut to move between cells instead. Is there a work around for this inconvenience? Thanks!

Hi im going to replace the keyboard on my laptop as it shorted the motherboard. the motherboard is fixed but the keyboard is currently unplugged from the board as its fkd, however i dont know what caused the keyboard to short the motherboard, but i want to put some sort of layer between the motherboard and the keyboard so that it prevents static or somehow accidental contact between the bottom of the keyboard and the back of the motherboard.
i had a similar problem in a laptop between the touchpad and the motherboard which caused the touchpad to become inoperable as the mouse cursor would jam in the top right corner of the screen and stay there.
thankyou so much for your response, i dont know what happened to my laptop, i plugged it in to power turned power on, went back to sit down at my table, clicked play on a game client and it just cut power, quite a delay from me turning the power on, but upon fixing the motherboard the keyboard just enters random keys constantly so assuming the keyboard was the culprit of the shorting. however i want to prevent this in the future when i replace the keyboard, thankyou so much
The program ensures that students, faculty, and staff have a standard set of tools - both hardware and software - that increase efficiency, connections, learning outcomes, and meets a majority of their wireless computing needs, thus producing a wireless laptop campus environment. MSOE students are provided with the tools that they will need to be thrive in our ever growing technological environment. The program is more than just a laptop computer! The laptops come equipped with what students need from the start to end of their time at MSOE. Students receive a laptop computer, access to necessary software, wireless and wired connectivity on campus, service and support (Help Desk), network storage, email and black and white printing. Students are welcome to purchase optional accessories to complement their MSOE laptop. Any questions about compatibility can be directed to the MSOE Help Desk. Color printing is also available across campus at a cost to the student.
The laptops are configured to print via the print management system. You will need your MSOE ID card to release your print job. Laptops print to the any available public printer on campus. You must be on campus or connected to VPN.
Full-time undergraduate students will be charged $745 per semester. The technology fee includes participation in the laptop program, supports information technology, printing services, network usage, and other related services. Accelerated nursing students will also be charged $500 for the summer term. Students in other programs will be charged $15 per credit.
Part-time undergraduate students, registered for 1-11 credits, will be charged $15 per credit. Part-time graduate students registered for 1-11 credits will be charged $30 per credit. Part-time and graduate students can opt-in to the laptop program for $150 per semester.
You can open Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (files with a .xls or .xlsx filename extension), delimited text files, or fixed-width text files into Numbers and make changes to them. See Import an Excel or text file into Numbers on Mac.
Open a spreadsheet you recently worked on: In Numbers, choose File > Open Recent (from the File menu at the top of your screen). Numbers shows up to the last ten spreadsheets you opened. Choose one to open it.
From 2006 to 2011, hundreds of thousands of laptop batteries were recalled by such major companies as HP and Dell because metal particles were accidentally incorporated into battery cells during manufacturing. In rare cases, these particles could penetrate a plastic sheet called a separator that ordinarily prevents the positive and negative electrodes within a cell from touching. Such an event can generate heat, which can cause the separator to break down further, resulting in more shorting and more heating. There are a few possible scenarios for what can go wrong in the case of a short circuit:
When you use your laptop, make sure the vents are unblocked. Never work with the laptop on pillows or cushions. If possible, put it on a raised stand that allows for plenty of airflow. Also, clean the vents every so often with a can of compressed air. You can buy this for a few dollars at any computer store. Be sure to follow the directions on the can, and do this only when the notebook is off.
Google Drive, when accessed on a desktop/laptop computer through the Chrome browser, can allow you to access files even if you don't have an internet connection. If you want to access files offline from multiple computers, set up access on each, but be sure to only set up offline access on a personal computer, not on shared computers.
There were well-known problems with VisiCalc, and several competitors appeared to address some of these issues. One early example was 1980's SuperCalc, which solved the problem of circular references, while a slightly later example was Microsoft Multiplan from 1981, which offered larger sheets and other improvements. In spite of these, and others, VisiCalc continued to outsell them all.[citation needed]
Macros in version one and add-ins (introduced in version 2.0) contributed much to 1-2-3's popularity, allowing dozens of outside vendors to sell macro packages and add-ins ranging from dedicated financial worksheets like F9 to full-fledged word processors. In the single-tasking MS-DOS, 1-2-3 was sometimes used as a complete office suite. All major graphics standards were supported; initially CGA and Hercules, and later EGA, AT&T, and VGA. Early versions used the filename extension "WKS".[32] In version 2.0, the extension changed first to "WK1",[33] then "WK2".[34] This later became "WK3" for version 3.0[35] and "WK4" for version 4.0.[36]
Version 2 introduced macros with syntax and commands similar in complexity to an advanced BASIC interpreter, as well as string variable expressions. Later versions supported multiple worksheets and were written in C. The charting/graphing routines were written in Forth by Jeremy Sagan (son of Carl Sagan) and the printing routines by Paul Funk (founder of Funk Software).[citation needed]
Lotus 1-2-3 assumes that 1900 is a leap year. This is incorrect as while 1900 is a year that is divisible by four, years divisible by 100 are not counted as leap years unless divisible by 400.[88] This bug persists today as its competitor, Microsoft Excel, still incorporates the bug to ensure compatibility with legacy Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets.[89]

Sometimes we need to flip back and forth between two worksheets in order to compare numbers, copy and paste entries, or create formulas. In these instances, it can be much easier to look at the two (or more) sheets side by side.
To accomplish this, we can use the New Window feature in Excel, as well as some desktop shortcuts to create a split screen view of the the sheets we want to look at simultaneously. It's a fairly easy habit to pick up and will save you lots of time and frustration in the long run.
One cool feature to employ while using a split screen is that you can scroll both sheets at the same time. This is especially helpful if you need to compare line by line, looking for differences in similar sets of data.
Once your windows are side by side and you've clicked the Synchronous Scrolling button, you will see how both sheets scroll simultaneously. This is the case whether you are using the up and down arrows on your keyboard, the scroll bar in either of the windows, or the roller wheel on your mouse.
Note: I have not tested this code thoroughly yet. It could probably also be made more efficient by storing the gridline property values in an array, then looping through the other windows. Especially if you have more than one extra window. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you. And definitely save your file before running it. I think it could be pretty labor intensive if your workbook has a lot of worksheets.
This is great! I have multiple project plan workbooks with a summary page that updates based on inputs to other sheets and setting up the workbook requires a lot of back an forth to check changes! Now I can do it on multiple monitors and lee live changes!!!!!
I have recently had a new work computer and I miss the MDI functionality that the old excel version had. I liked that I could view multiple worksheets in one window. I could see all the data in each work sheet and control them with a single tool bar. Now a lot of the space is used up by tool bars, etc. Is there a way to replicate this aspect of MDI in the new version of excel?
Are you having problems scrolling through Excel spreadsheets with your mouse, touchpad, or keyboard arrow keys? Does the issue affect all or specific sheets in your workbook? Is the scroll bar missing in your worksheets?
