Hi folks,

Just checking if anyone else among you (or friends) who may be interested in pursuing Electoral / Political Reform through changes in the Malaysian Constitution, regulations, etc. A small group of Malaysians across the global and in Malaysia has been focussed on this since mid last year and we are entering Phase 2 of the Projek BERES proposals. We will need all the help we can muster from our international grouping. If you know of anyone who could help, feel free to forward their contact details to me to forward to the lead.

We are having a weekend call this Sunday March 09 at 6am Malaysia time (to accommodate a variety of time zone).  If you would like to join, you are very much welcomed to skype-in and do drop me a line with your skype username.

How about having a meet up after next week so Soon can give us a bit of a briefing about Projek Beres. What did phase 1 achieve and what is the objective of phase 2.

It has been awhile since we got together so maybe this can be an impetus.

No problem with meeting up, but it always end up just as a social chit chat with no conclusion.

I've attached fb page link for those interested to catch up on concept. I'm one of the admin, so ask your questions there.

Only recently, the Bar Council/Tindak Malaysia forum Towards a fairer electoral system in which Projek BERES was introduce and the discussion topics are the sorts which we focusses on.

It involves quiet a lot of reading, rationalizing, structuring alternative clauses in the legislation, brainstorming different models/ ways of doing things in the electoral sense, etc. You'll need to have the sustained interest, own initiative to move along on own steam or in a group and be prepared to be selling it to the public in it for the long run. Therefore, joining the Skype session is best gauge of whether it suits you.

Like I said, no problems with the meet up to brief but a little reading up would help a long way. The fb page have lots of information about what we intend to do in point form.
