Things evolved quickly and as some of you read, Bersih 2.0 announced an overnighter rally on August 29-30 in KL, Kuching and KK, known as Bersih 4.0.

Some of the Malay boys are keen to have a support rally in Perth and help coordinate one. Many cities across the world are waking up to tge call and indicated they will have support rallies too. At this stage, not enough details are available but they're trying to meet up on weekend and will put out packages for all.

Soon Yee, yes thats fine but please first check if there is any city coordinator in Rio de Janeiro/Sao Paulo. I can support if there is any. Please also send me some official material/information if there is any so I can start contacting some Malaysians here in Brazil.

 

Sao Paulo is relatively lack of Malaysians so if a gathering is to be organised, I would try to make it in Rio de Janeiro. The Sugarloaf bread (Pão de açucar) view is awesome there are more Malaysians from my feeling.

Malaysian Progressives in Australia (MPOZ) wants to collaborate with BMP to organize Bersih 4.0 in Perth. We will work with them, let the younger ones take the lead and will lend our support.

We have tentatively decided to have a similar rally to B3.0, meet in Langley Park then walk up to the consulate. It was suggested that we hold it on Saturday August 29 between 12 and 2pm, definitely no overnighter.

Can Raymond as president of AMWA be countered in to give 5 mins direct-to-point speech? They are trying to get Scott Ludlam to attend and speak too. May also get Robin Chapple, Freo mayor Brad Petitt and Hilton Council Sam Wainwright to attend and speak. If any of you can get prominent people local and visiting, who would be in town, to attend and speak it would be great.

As usual, we need rally marshalls, can we count on all of you here? I presume we can borrow AMWA's mobile speaker. Does anyone know who has the previous rally banners? We may modify and reuse them.

FYI, the organizing committee for Bersih4 in Perth has already gathered and things are already moving along. We are meeting once again this weekend to firm the agenda and getting down to nitty gritty. If you care to join us Saturday August 15, 2.30pm for an hour or so at Chocolateria San Churros East Victoria Park, and take away a small assignment it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't attend but will be joining us on the day itself, please advise if you can assist by being one of the Rally Marshalls....the more experienced rally attendees like you in this group would really help, not so much as keeping the people within the footpath and roads but to watch out for any trouble makers and intimidators. It would also help if you could make placards with your short and sweet messages from the heart. I've commissioned a media crew to compile a short documentary/montage thing, so if you're not keen to speak in front of the camera, your message on placard would convey it adequately.

If you could join the facebook event page and post picture messages of why you would attend the rally, it would help encourage and draw out the first timer and the timid. Finally, we understand that you may not be able to attend the rally itself on that day, we hope you can contribute by spreading the message to encourage any of your family and friends who may and can attend.

Thanks Kenny. Ask if Jane wants to join our whatsapp group to coordinate the flyer and other designs for social media hype up for event. I didn't want to repeat things already discussed. If any of you don't mind joining too, just privately text or email me your mobile for inclusion.

As for the photography or videography, many have said they would be up for it but that to be seen on the day. We have yet to see some to date those which was promised the last round. So I would leave it to all to do what they can, edit it and post it themselves on yhe events page, if they feel like it.

Hi All,

As you are all probably aware,  B5 is coming up.
Soon and I are involved in organising the Perth event and need to utilise the funds BMP holds to help finance the event here,
 including buying tee shirts. As in the past, the profits from the sale of those tee shirts go back to BMP.

Unless anyone has objections I will ask Kien to release the funds to me to get the ball rolling. Due to the urgency of the matter, please voice your concerns, if any within the next 24 hours.
If there are no objections I will ask Kien to release the funds to me. I will provide an account of the funds to you all after the event.
