Subject: Join us on Thursday to learn about health care changes

This message is from Disability Rights New Mexico and The Disability Coalition.

Big changes are underway in New Mexico health care!  With full implementation of the Affordable Care Act in January, access to health coverage is growing through the opening of the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange and expansion of Medicaid eligibility.  At the same time, the state’s Medicaid program is changing with implementation of Centennial Care.

DRNM and The Disability Coalition are presenting a series of educational sessions around New Mexico to talk about these changes and what they mean for the disability community.  As part of that series, we will be hosting events in Albuquerque and Las Cruces this Thursday, November 21.

The Albuquerque event will focus on the Health Insurance Exchange, new opportunities for health coverage, financial help that may be available to you to make coverage affordable, and tips for how to select the coverage that will work best for you.

At the Las Cruces event, we’ll cover all those topics and also explore expansion of Medicaid eligibility and the changes that Centennial Care will bring to Medicaid services for people with disabilities.

Both the Albuquerque and Las Cruces events will take place on

Thursday, November 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

In Albuquerque, the event will be at:

Erna Fergusson Library

3700 San Mateo NE

This is a block north of Comanche.  The entrance is on the east side of the building.)

(The Albuquerque event is supported by a grant from the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange.)

The Las Cruces event will be at:

Dona Ana Community College,

3400 S. Espina Street – Room 96

(The Las Cruces event is supported by grants from the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange and the Governor’s Commission on Disability.)

If you don’t live in Albuquerque or Las Cruces, keep an eye out for future events coming to a location near you!
