Dear Ondine (and other auction gurus),

We have been trying to sell the electric bike donated to the Green Team on craigslist with no sale yet. I've been in contact with someone who seems to be sincerely interested, but he broke his finger yesterday and so wasn't able to come for his test ride as planned today. If he, or someone else, does not purchase it before the auction, can we please include it in the auction? New value is $1,000; we are asking $600 on craigslist (but would defer to your judgement for the auction). Here are the specs:

Newly new Cloud Pacific E-Bike featuring a lithium ion battery pack that recharges fully in 4-6 hours for a range of 15-20 miles at speeds of 17-20 miles per hour. The bike is a comfortable ride, with an easy step-through frame, 26" wheels, and front suspension. It is a perfect vehicle for urban and hill rides. More detail from the company at http://www.pacificebike.com/portfolios/cloud/

Donated by Joanne and Matthew Gouaux

Thanks!
Sarah

Dear Ondine (and others),

I just wanted to confirm that after several inquiries and one test ride, we have not sold the electric bike on Craigslist (listing it at $600) and would like to put it in the auction.

The bike body is in very good condition (like new) and it hasn't been ridden much. We suspect that the battery (dated 2011/04/09) probably went for quite awhile (12-18 months?) without being charged, which may have compromised it some, but it does seem to hold its charge well when being ridden. It is not as strong a battery as more recent models, so does not do as well going up hills as some electric bikes, but does give the expected boost in general.

Are you willing to put it in the auction? Perhaps at a minimum bid of $300? It is bulky and heavy (about 55 lbs) -- I could ride it over to the auction. Just let me know.

Really looking forward to the night of auction fun! Thanks for all that you put into making it such a wonderful event!!

Thanks,
Sarah
