There are lots of fun ways to enjoy biking over the next few weeks beginning with our monthly
Bike, Walk, Roll to School Day this Friday (April 12). Whether you are a regular or are trying it for the first time, we hope that you'll join us at the Grant Street gate for a sticker and a smile. And as an Earth student pointed out recently, carpooling can mean driving with a friend and "counts" for Bike, Walk, Roll to School Day!
On Saturday, April 20, everyone is welcome at the Washington School yard for the Bikes in Berkeley Earth Day Festival. This free event includes a Family Cycling Clinic at 10 am (this part needs preregistration,
https://www.ebbc.org/index.php?q=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=381) and loads of activities from 12-5 pm including a unicycle basketball game, bike blended smoothies, bike repairs and helmet fittings, and bike flag decoration.
You can join the greater community by biking to school on Thursday, May 9 for the East Bay Bike to Work Day. There will be "flocks" of riders heading for Berkwood Hedge together that morning and an Energizer Station to visit when you arrive.
One final sneak preview... the Green Team will be sharing information and ideas for "Eating Local" in May. More details to come soon, but save Tuesday, April 30, for a personalized tour of the South Berkeley Farmer's Market to kick it off!
