Here is the Tuesday note submission for bike to school this coming thurs. please let me know if you have any changes. I am also looking for someone to write a submission regarding the eat local month. Let me know if you can do it.
Bike Month and Bike/Walk/Ride to School Day this Thursday, 5/9: It is time to pump up your tires, tune your bike bell, and call your neighbors for this Thursday's official Bike to School and Work Day. This year, Berkwood Hedge will have five bike flock meeting points around town:
Cedar Rose Park--meet on the Ohlone Greenway at Cedar St., leaving at 7:55 (leader: Vanessa [Finn/Earth])
San Pablo Park--meet at Park and Russell at 8:00 (leaders: Erica and Marti)
Willard Middle School--meet at Stuart and Hillegass at 8:00 (leader: Matti [Julia/Spirit])
Berkeley Arts Magnet School--meet at Virginia and Milvia at 8:00 (leaders: Shelly [Emma/Air] and Rebecca and Tom [Owen and Henry/ Air and Spirit])
King Middle School-- meet at Grant and Rose at 8:00 (leader: Evan [Fiona/Water])
All are welcome to join a bike flock (or make your own in your neighborhood). Come enjoy the celebration/refreshments/goodies at the Grant Street gate before heading off to class. Parents/ guardians are encouraged to accompany their children on the ride; however, if you would like to drop off your child with his/her bike to join a bike flock, please be sure your child is a confident independent rider and email Rebecca (pikah...@gmail.com), so she can let the bike flock leaders know that your child will be joining.
