I looked at the logos and liked Colab_dot. I modified it slightly (put the "O" inside the gear) and changed the colors. Here it is on a black background, White Background and a black and white logo. (the choice would depend on what the logo would be printed / displayed on)

Amy wanted me to try some different colors too, so I posted some new ones with blue and green to http://wiki.berkscolab.org/wiki/Logo along with some with the "o" in CoLab inside the gear "C" instead of a dot. Let me know what you all think. Also, Mike (one of the new guys that stopped by on saturday said his fiance is a designer and might take a look at our ideas too.
