Hey everyone,

Timely reminder here of the first Berkeley Linux User Group meetup of the month and very first one of the new year.

At least the virtual meetup starts at 11:00am PST this Sunday, January 8th, and goes to 2:00pm or however late people want to participate.

What are people's thoughts of choices and/or possibilities of a venue for this Sunday's live, in-person physical meetup, given ongoing weather events and Cal's current Winter break?

E.g.,

- At an open area within Zellerbach plaza (between Zellerbach Hall and the ASCU student union building) on the UC Berkeley central campus, South side ?
- At Freehouse Restaurant, 2700 Bancroft Way ?
- At Caffe Strada, 2300 College Ave on the Southwest corner of Bancroft Way and College ?

(According to its Yelp webpage https://www.yelp.com/biz/sodoi-coffee-tasting-house-berkeley-2 , Sodoi Coffee Tasting House remains (temporarily?) closed.)

1. According to the current Weather Underground Berkeley, CA 10-Day Weather Forecast for this Sunday https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/ca/berkeley/KCABERKE108 , there may be 1/2" or more of cumulative rainfall in the general area of the three bulleted locations above.

2. According to Cal's Academic Calendar https://guide.berkeley.edu/academic-calendar/ , classes for Spring Semester 2023 start on Tuesday, January 17th (i.e., after this 1st BerkeleyLUG meetup of the month+year.)

Ideas? Suggestions?

Yes they are open. I called today and verified. Also their Instagram and Facebook pages day they were closed till the second.
