Hi everyone,

I apologize for sending something not directly related to the Food Coop, but I believe the current UC budget crisis is something that will affect us all sooner or later.

Tomorrow (Monday) there will be a protest by the Student Worker Action Team to coincide with the Chancellor's speech to new students at 3pm on Memorial Glade. The goal is to put in perspective the recent staff pay cuts, student tuition increaes, etc. with the outrageous bonuses the UC is spending for its top administrators ($390 million in bonuses just last year) and other non-core expenses (such as $11,000 a month for the UC President's mansion in Oakland). We will have flyers to distribute so any help would be appreciated

The meeting point is at Bancroft and College at 2:45pm, but just join us on the glade if you get there later. I realize we still need people at the produce stand at the same time, but if we have enough people staying at the stand it would be great to have some of us participate.

This is the only time I will post about this on this listserv, but if you are interested to participate in the Student Worker Action Team, weekly meetings are at 6:30pm in 250 Dwinelle, and if you want to get on their listserv let me know and I can arrange that.

Thank you,

Philippe
