to Berkeley Food Coop: General Membership
Hello, my fellow patriots and good samaritans:

So, some of you may or may not know that the Berkeley Student Food
Collective is going to be catering a food justice event at the Brower
Center on Wednesday September 9th. We are going to need a food squad
of 5-7 people to dedicate all of that day (about 9:00am to 8:00pm) to
cooking and serving dank grub. Am I cutting class? Yes. You should
too!
This is a great way to learn about professional food under the
supervision of a professional chef who is volunteering her time to us.
The people who are putting on this event are giving us a budget of
1000 bucks to make them a super good meal.

Also, some people on this food squad will help me procure cheap and/or
donated ingredients for this meal. I envision that many of the people
who work on this project will be valuable members of the Food
Committee that I am assembling as Food Coordinator. The food committee
will work to both get food to the public for cheap by any means
necessary and also work on designing a menu for our storefront and
connect with farmers and suppliers to get the co-op kwality eats.

But in the immediate future, anyone that would like to cook this meal
should come to our small-scale test run at Lothlorien Co-op on Friday
at 10 o'clock. We probably only need 2-4 people for this friday, and
these people will be familiar with the dishes on the menu and will be
able to direct people on the day of. The cooks will get a free lunch
out of it!
Also, if someone wanted to help me get food on thursday night that
would be great.

Yours in good stealth,
Michael
